Tour Elgon Region

Welcome to Smak Trekkers Safaris, the starting point for your excursion into the beauty of the mountain elgon! Small-group tours and custom safaris are available from our firm to the heart of the mountain elgon. The Bagisu and the Sabiny, two tribes with lovely cultures, live in Mount Elgon National Park, an extinct volcano. Birds of more than 300 different species flit over the mountain and its slopes. On the lower slopes, elephants and buffalo can be spotted. Along with forest monkeys like the black-and-white colobus and blue monkey, the park is also home to a variety of tiny antelope, duiker, and other primates. Despite being believed to be locally extinct, reports of red-tailed monkeys have been made. There are also hyena and leopard there, numerous rivers that pour down the mountain create numerous waterfalls, including the well-known Sipi Falls.
